Q. I've seen a lot of home care agencies in the area. Why should I choose Caring Companions? 

A. Simply put, our clients' needs and independence is our top priority "Because there's no place like home." Many of our care providers have been in the health & nursing industry for 10 years or longer. We truly understand how important it is to remain in the comfort of your own home. We do everything in our power to make that possible!


Q. What is the difference between home care and home-health care

A. Home Care includes non-medical services, which can be requested by anyone. Home-health care is typically requested by a client's physician. These services include wound care, medication administration and palliative care.


Q. Is the cost for services covered by my health plan?

A. Depending on your coverage and the services required, some of the costs may be covered by your health plan. You will have to ask your health plan provider for details.


 Q. What payment options do you offer?

A. We bill on a 10 day schedule, meaning we would send an invoice on the 10th, 20th and last day of each month. For your convenience, we accept cash, check and credit cards via PayPal.


Additionally, we are happy to announce that we are also PASSPORT certified. We can now accept clients through PASSPORT, a medicaid waiver, as well as Buckeye Health and UnitedHealth Ohio as part of the MyCare Ohio plans.


Q. Can I pick the services I want?

A. Yes, you certainly can pick and choose the services that you want. You are the customer and you tell us what your needs are!

 

Q. How are your employees screened?

A. All of our employees undergo a rigorous pre-employment screening, which includes reference checks and background checks. Additionally, once hired, every employee is trained individually by a staff RN or LPN under the Caring Companions Training Program.

 

Q. Do I get to pick the person looking after me?

A. Yes, if you do not like the match we made you can help us in finding a better employee match.

 

Q. Are all your employees nurses?

A. Some are nurses, some are designated health professionals and some are trained caregivers. We match the employee's training to best fit your needs.

 

Q. What happens if my caregiver gets sick?

A. You have a choice of cancelling the appointment or allowing us to send a replacement caregiver.

 

Q. Is Caring Companions service only available in the home?

A. No, we can provide our services to you whether you live at home or a senior's complex or health care facility.
